These summaries explain the safeguards expected of Alliance leaders, members, trainers, volunteers, contractors, partners, and programs.
Safeguarding & reporting
Members and representatives must prioritize child safety, follow professional boundaries and applicable supervision requirements, and make legally required reports of suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Call 911 for immediate danger and use the reporting authority required by the jurisdiction where the concern occurs.
Nondiscrimination & accommodations
The Alliance supports equal access without unlawful discrimination based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or another protected status. Reasonable disability, language-access, religious, and other legally required accommodations may be requested.
Anti-harassment & non-retaliation
Harassment, intimidation, exploitation, and retaliation are prohibited. Anyone may make a good-faith report about safety, ethics, discrimination, misuse of funds, falsified records, conflicts of interest, or other compliance concerns without retaliation.
Privacy, technology & media
The Alliance limits collection and access to information needed for membership, programs, legal or funding duties, and quality improvement. Personal information, images, recordings, testimonials, or member work are not publicly used without appropriate notice and permission, except where law permits or requires disclosure.
Credential & representation integrity
Members, trainers, leaders, and partners must accurately describe credentials, approvals, affiliations, outcomes, and services. Alliance membership is not a government license, accreditation, or guarantee of regulatory compliance, and may not be represented as one.
Financial & grant stewardship
Alliance resources and restricted funds must be used only for authorized purposes, supported by accurate records, protected from conflicts of interest, and handled in accordance with grant terms, contracts, and applicable law.
Fair Review Process
Complaints, grievances & appeals
Send a clear description of the concern, relevant dates, people involved, and requested resolution to info@nationalallianceeducators.org. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within 3 business days and provide a written decision normally within 15 business days. A written appeal may be submitted within 10 business days of the decision; a final appeal decision is normally issued within 15 business days.
Safety concerns may require immediate interim action. Confidentiality is protected as far as practical, but cannot be guaranteed when investigation, due process, funder duties, or law requires disclosure.
Reports are reviewed impartially and conflicts are reassigned when possible. Records are retained according to legal, contractual, insurance, grant, and operational requirements. Investigation files, background-screening information, personnel records, and other restricted records are not posted publicly. Do not email Social Security numbers, medical records, screening results, or similarly sensitive information; contact the Alliance first for secure instructions.
Training and certificate integrity
Alliance-affiliated training records must accurately reflect identity, attendance, participation, assessment, and completion. Certificates may be corrected or withdrawn when issued in error or obtained through misrepresentation. Unless an offering specifically documents otherwise, participation does not confer a state license, national CDA credential, accreditation, or IACET continuing education units.
